Jack Romita      It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our Senior Vice President, Jack Romita, Sr.. Jack was a cherished father, brother and uncle and a beloved friend and colleague to all at Castle. He began working for his father, Mauro Romita, Sr. in the company at a very young age after school. Among his earliest responsibilities were stoking the coal burners in the garage in the early hours of the morning before school to ensure that the diesel trucks would start. Jack joined the company full time in 1945 and worked as a salesman, dispatcher, driver, serviceman - whatever needed to be done. He quickly assumed responsibility for the fleet and all maintenance. This is a responsibility, the scope of which expanded dramatically over the years and, which he held until the day of his death. In addition to his day to day responsibilities at Castle, Mr. Romita served the company on its board of directors. Jack was known for his extraordinary warmth, care and concern for all of his employees, high energy, perpetually positive outlook and wonderful sense of humor. Jack was Castle's historian, chronicling the many phases of Castle's success over the years through the photos and mementos proudly displayed in his office. His sense of caring and a ready smile were ever present. He was truly the soul of Castle. His passing is a great loss to us all. While we mourn a terrible loss, we are privileged to have shared in, and we now celebrate, a life well lived. God bless you Jack.

Delivery

How often will you deliver heating oil to my house?
The frequency of deliveries depends on various factors such as the size of your tank, the size of your house, your hot water usage, the number of people living in your house, your thermostat setting and of course the weather. We set up an automatic delivery schedule based on a computer program that analyzes all of these points and assigns a "k-factor" to determine how quickly you use heating oil and calculate to make your next delivery.

Do I have to call for a delivery of oil?
Most our customers are on an automatic delivery basis and leave the scheduling up to us. They have peace of mind knowing that their computer-determined deliveries will be made in a timely manner without any worrying on their part.

"Will call" customers prefer to monitor their own usage by checking their tanks. These customers call us for deliveries on 48-hour notice.

Do I have to order a minimum number of gallons?
The minimum delivery is 150 gallons for "will call" customers. If you are an automatic delivery customer, we make deliveries when you need them. On occasion, we may deliver less than the 150 gallon minimum.

How can I be sure that my heating oil will be there when I need it?
Unlike most other home heating oil dealers, Castle owns and operates its own bulk storage terminals. Our terminals (in Westchester and the Bronx) have a huge capacity. We have our own group of expert traders and transportation specialists who constantly comb the global petroleum market. And we operate our own fleet of tank trucks. In short, we have the resources to make sure your home stays warm and comfortable even in the worst weather.

Service

Do you offer service contracts for the heating equipment?
Castle offers comprehensive service plans to meet all of your heating and hot water service needs. The prices are based on the type of heating equipment you have, the number of heating and hot water units, the number of parts covered, and the covered hours of the day.

What do your service contracts cover?
All service contracts cover an annual burner cleaning. The service contracts also cover approximately 75% - 80% of the standard burner parts (depending on the contract you choose). The Premier Plan covers emergency service twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. The other plans provide service during those times, but in some circumstances you may be charged for service after hours or on weekends.

How do I know which service contract to choose?
We will help you choose the right service contract for your heating system by inspecting the equipment and making a recommendation as to the best service plan for you.

What areas do you service?
We service Bronx, Westchester, and Putnam Counties.

Do I turn off my boiler in the summer?
You need to keep the boiler on in the summer if you use it for hot water. You should turn off your thermostat.

You can turn off your boiler if you have a hot water heater that runs separately from the boiler.

Payment

Do you offer a budget payment plan?
Yes. Our budget plan runs for a ten month period from September - June 30. We estimate a balanced monthly budget amount based on your annual usage, multiply that by a projected price per gallon based on market conditions, and then come up with an affordable payment. Of course, if for any reason the budget plan payments do not cover your actual charges, you remain responsible for the difference.

What forms of payment do you accept for residential accounts?
We accept American Express, MasterCard or Visa, personal checks and electronic funds transfer. We can also offer you the convenience of automatic budget plan payments from your checking account via an electronic debit system.
