Jack Romita      It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our Senior Vice President, Jack Romita, Sr.. Jack was a cherished father, brother and uncle and a beloved friend and colleague to all at Castle. He began working for his father, Mauro Romita, Sr. in the company at a very young age after school. Among his earliest responsibilities were stoking the coal burners in the garage in the early hours of the morning before school to ensure that the diesel trucks would start. Jack joined the company full time in 1945 and worked as a salesman, dispatcher, driver, serviceman - whatever needed to be done. He quickly assumed responsibility for the fleet and all maintenance. This is a responsibility, the scope of which expanded dramatically over the years and, which he held until the day of his death. In addition to his day to day responsibilities at Castle, Mr. Romita served the company on its board of directors. Jack was known for his extraordinary warmth, care and concern for all of his employees, high energy, perpetually positive outlook and wonderful sense of humor. Jack was Castle's historian, chronicling the many phases of Castle's success over the years through the photos and mementos proudly displayed in his office. His sense of caring and a ready smile were ever present. He was truly the soul of Castle. His passing is a great loss to us all. While we mourn a terrible loss, we are privileged to have shared in, and we now celebrate, a life well lived. God bless you Jack.

Residential Automatic Delivery

One of the most important service benefits we offer our residential customers is automatic delivery. Using a computerized system, we calculate when you will need more oil.  Then we schedule a delivery for you, show up and fill your tank.  You don't have to call us or worry about running out.  We use a "K factor" to calculate automatic deliveries.  The K factor weighs variables like your house size and oil usage history.  Changes in the number of people living in your home or additions to your home will affect your heat and hot water usage, so please let us know whenever this occurs.  If you are a residential fuel oil user and would like to be placed on automatic delivery, please call our Customer Care Center at (914) 333-2400.  We will be happy to include this service for you.

Residential Budget Plan

Castle offers our residential customers a Budget Plan program that enables you to make direct payments for fuel oil throughout the year.  This allows you to spread out the costs of heating your home over twelve months and avoiding having to make higher payments in the colder months when you use more oil.  Castle takes the planned amount out of your checking account monthly, saving you the time and expense of writing checks and mailing them.  For more information, or to sign up for the Budget Plan and direct payment, call Customer Care at (914) 333-2400.

Oil Tank Protection Plan - Pro Guard

Castle understands that pollution is a major concern in today's world.  Recent home buyers may have encountered this issue first hand with questions about oil tanks, their condition and potential homeowner liability.  We are pleased to offer a program to relieve any concerns you may have about your oil tank.  While most tanks are quite secure and leaks are infrequent, you may be uncertain about the condition of an older tank on your property.  ProGuard, an independent insurance provider, covers up to $100,000 for clean up of oil when it is accidentally released from your tank.  This oil tank coverage is transferable if you sell your home.  ProGuard also pays up to $2,000 for repairs or replacement of damaged tanks.  This plan requires a tank test and is available to residential customers who have automatic delivery.  If you want one less thing to worry about, call Customer Care at (914) 333-2400 and ask about ProGuard.
